Yorkshire Chocolate is a workers cooperative set up by a group of women in Halifax who love chocolate and wanted to produce a ground-breaking product which is British, made in Yorkshire, ethical, hand-made, and not compromised in its quality by large-scale industrial processes. We wanted to prove that real people can produce real chocolate!
We wanted to change perceptions of what British chocolate should taste like, and the experts we have consulted agree that we have produced a taste that will outshine many products in the quality chocolate market. This hand-tempered chocolate has a beautiful melt and a perfect balance of the sweet, tart and darker notes of the finest beans from Ecuador and Madagascar. Not only that, but our recipe has been developed to form the basis of a range of products that will include a number of exciting and refined flavours.

Yorkshire Chocolate has spent over a year getting the recipe just right. Our aim was to produce a hand-crafted, sophisticated tasting chocolate made from the highest quality natural ingredients obtained from ethical sources, and which contained no additives or preservatives, and significantly less fat and sugar compared with most mass-produced products that are sold as upmarket products.
